Ford says sorry for ads showing Kardashians bound, gagged
The Ford Figo ads made a showing on the Internet last week — and Twitter followers were outraged, given the recent high-profile rape cases that have surfaced in India.
The poster ad showed Paris Hilton driving a car that showed the Kardashian trio bound and tied in the back. The tagline: “Leave Your Worries Behind,” the site Mashable reports.
In a second poster, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was shown driving three scantily dressed women, bound and gagged in similar fashion to the first ad. Mr. Berlusconi flips the peace sign, Mashable reports.
Ford issued an apology, as reported by CNBC.
“We deeply regret this incident and agree with our agency partners that it should have never happened. The posters are contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within Ford and our agency partners,” the company said.
